Beer Poking

Join us for our first ever traditional Bierstacheln (beer poking) on 3/8 noon-5pm on the patio!

Bierstacheln is a traditional German event that sprung from cold winter months.  If your “bier” was too cold to drink outside, a blacksmith would simply warm it up for you by placing a metal poker from his forge and stir until the temperature was more moderate and easier to drink.  The residual malts and sugars of the beer were naturally caramelized by the heat, changing the flavor to a sweet, marshmallow-like toasted flavor that is pleasantly soft and creamy on the palate.   A perfect way to warm up on a chilly winter afternoon.
