Private Event Rental
Thanks for your interest in hosting an event at Big Wood Brewery! Our space is located in the basement of a building constructed in 1906 and the ambiance of our Taproom will take you back in time. Reclaimed wood from local barns and trees, historic bank vault doors, and copper kettles in our brewhouse will set the vibe for your guests as they walk into the facility. If you are seeking an event space that is cozy, unique, and intimate, look no further.
Our event room is located away from the bustling bar area making for a quieter, more exclusive setting. The room accommodates up to 35 people at one time. You also have the option to spill out into the taproom if you need more space.
Any food or non-alcoholic beverage items are allowed to be brought in from outside sources. Our next door neighbors at The Alchemist specialize in gourmet flatbreads, and are more than happy to deliver to our taproom. Wine, other beer, and/or spirits are not allowed.
- The room includes 7 high top tables that seat 4-6 people each. Tables can be added/removed upon request.
- We have 10 rotating beers on tap, house-made non-alcoholic Root Beer and Kombucha Tea, and seasoned pretzels available for purchase.
- We can provide plastic utensils, paper plates, paper towels, and trash bags. Anything else will need to be provided by the party hosting the event.
- Children are welcome.
- Decorations are welcome.

Private party, no public entry — entire brewery is for guests of private event only.
$200 rental + $200/hour minimum*
- Tuesday – Thursday
$100 rental + $100/hour minimum*
- Friday – Saturday
$150 rental + $150/hour minimum*

*Minimum can be reached through both beverage sales and merchandise sales. Sales tax and a 15% gratuity charge will be added to all tabs.

What does it mean to make a private event reservation?
It means that we will reserve our private space for your group and provide beer.
Does filling out the request form make it final?
No. Our Event Coordinator will reach out in a timely manner to confirm that the time and area you have requested are available. Upon confirmation that the room is available, we will need a response from you confirming the date and time that you would like the room. We will also need the room fee paid for prior to your event — this can be done by stopping into the taproom during open hours, or you can email us your phone number, and we will reach out to you to take your payment over the phone.
How much time in advance must I make a reservation?
We would prefer at least two weeks in advance, but we will accept requests up to a minimum of one week prior to reservation date.
What about parking?
We have free parking. Our parking lot is located on the 3rd street side of our building.
Can I make a reservation for a smaller group than 10 people?
Our taproom is first come, first served. However, if you let us know the date and time that you plan to arrive at our taproom, we will do our best to reserve a table for your group.
Do you offer table service?
Sorry, we do not. All beer is self-serve. Our Beertenders will help assist you and your guests with your order at the bar. Periodically our Beertenders will come into the room to collect empty glasses.
What if I need to cancel?
Please notify our Event Coordinator right away, either by phone or email, in order for them to make the necessary changes. We will refund the rental fee if you cancel more than 48 hours prior to your event.
